European Union shipping only. We fulfil orders once or twice a week. Please allow 7 days for dispatching.

All orders are shipped to European Union, from Bodil Jane’s studio in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, using PostNL.

Except for rug and throw orders, those can be shipped worldwide. Rugs are directly shipped from our partner in Morocco, using FedEX. Throws are directly shipped from our partner in USA, using FedEX or UPS. We offer free shipping on throws for USA residents. Please send an e-mail to shop@bodiljane.com if you are interested.

For each order you can choose for a shipping option with or without tracking. Please note that we are not responsible for damages, losses or delays incurred by any of the shipping services. Especially when you choose a shipping option without tracking we can not help you when your order gets lost.

The tracking code will be included in the shipping confirmation e-mail that you will receive after your order has shipped out. It can take up to 24 hours before your order can be tracked. To track your order, please enter the tracking code on the website of the right shipping service:

UPS (throw orders)

Please note that rugs and throws are made to order and will be shipped directly by our partners. If you have ordered a rug or throw, and an additional item, you might get two tracking codes for two different parcels (one shipping from Bodil Jane’s studio and one shipping directly from our partner). We will send you an e-mail if this is the case.

ABout BOdil jane Shop

What is the story behind Bodil Jane Shop?

Bodil Jane Shop is the online shop of Amsterdam based illustrator Bodil Jane. Bodil Jane graduated from Willem de Kooning Academy in 2014. She has been working for clients and brands from all over the world ever since and is represented by illustration agency Folio Art. She spends the time that is left on designing products for her online shop. Bodil Jane Shop is actually just an excuse to keep creating stuff for fun!

What kind op products are available on Bodil Jane Shop?

Bodil Jane offers a range of colorful products, fully designed by herself: prints, rugs, stationery, homeware and apparel. All of the products are manufactured in small numbers, keeping our environmental impact in mind. Most of the products that you will find in this shop are exclusive and not to be found anywhere else, because Bodil Jane does not offer wholesale.

Next to these exclusive items you will find products and books that Bodil Jane designed in collaboration with other brands and publishers. Her aim is to sell all of her designs in one place: this online shop!

In what ways does Bodil Jane Shop help the environment and the community?

Making sure that Bodil Jane Shop is ethical is very important to us! This means we aim to reduce waste, reuse materials and use as less plastic as possible. Especially when designing new products we keep this in mind. But we also never waste any existing stickers or packaging materials, even if we would actually prefer to design new ones. First we use what is already there.

To pack our orders we aim to reuse materials whenever possible. So do not be surprised if the cardboard box looks like it has been used before. It may not look as fresh, but it is a lot better for our planet. If we will use a new cardboard box it will always be made from FSC certified cardboard. We only use paper tape and paper box fillers. If you find plastic box fillers in your parcel it is because we have reused it. We use eco-friendly seal bags to package prints.

Our (new) FSC certified stickers are printed with soy-based inks on acid free paper. Same for the Bodil Jane tissue paper that we use to wrap some of the products. We aim to manufacture all products locally to avoid unnecessary cargo flights.

It is also important to us that the partners and manufacturers we work with establish an ethical working environment.

Do you offer wholesale?

Sadly we do not offer wholesale. Some brands that Bodil Jane has collaborated with do offer wholesale. Please find a complete list here.

Is there a Bodil Jane brick and mortar store in Amsterdam?

Unfortunately not! That would be a dream come true, but we are not there yet. Some brands that Bodil Jane has collaborated with might sell through brick and mortar stores (worldwide). Please find a complete list here.

Do you collaborate with influencers to promote Bodil Jane Shop?

We do not work with influencers at the moment. Bodil Jane is an influencer herself and therefore promotes her own shop too. If you are interested in free products in return for promotion: sorry, that is not possible.

How do I order from Bodil Jane Shop?

Ordering at Bodil Jane Shop is very easy! Go to the Shop page and select a category. Browse through the collection and place your desired products in the shopping cart by clicking the ‘add to cart’ button. Proceed to checkout by clicking the ‘checkout’ button. Just follow the payment steps and your order has been placed! By ordering from Bodil Jane Shop you automatically agree with our Terms & Conditions.

Will I receive an order confirmation?

After your order has been placed you will receive an order confirmation e-mail right away. If you can not find it in your mailbox, please check your spam. If you can still not find the order confirmation, please send an e-mail to shop@bodiljane.com to check if something went wrong.

Is it possible to order a gift card?

We are sorry! At the moment we do not offer gift cards.

Can I add a gift note or gift wrap to my order?

We love that you are planning to order a gift! We will do anything we can to make it beautiful.

We can add a handwritten gift note to your order in any language. Please add your (short) message to the Additional Information form at the checkout. Do not forget to mention who is sending the gift (unless you want it to be anonymous of course). Please note we can not add gift notes to made to order products like rugs and throws.

If you add a gift note to an order, we will automatically wrap your order if possible. Unfortunately it is not possible for every product. For example, the prints are already very tightly packed in an envelope. Please note we can not wrap to made to order products like rugs and throws.

What payment options do you accept?

At the moment we accept the following payment options: PayPal, Apple Pay and creditcard payments through Stripe.

I am shopping from the Netherlands and would like to pay using Ideal, is that possible?

Unfortunately Bodil Jane Shop does not support Ideal. If you are shopping from the Netherlands and are not able to pay using the available payment methods, you can send an e-mail to shop@bodiljane.com to arrange the payment by direct bank transfer or Tikkie.

Do the prices include VAT?

Orders and shipping costs for EU countries include 21% VAT. This is specified on the order confirmation.

Do the prices include shipping costs?

No, the shipping costs will be calculated at the checkout.

Will I receive a shipping confirmation?

After your order has been shipped you will receive a shipping confirmation e-mail right away. The tracking code will be included. If you can not find it in your mailbox, please check your spam.

How long will my order take to arrive?

We fulfil orders once or twice a week. Please allow 7 days for dispatching. Orders within the Netherlands, shipped with PostNL, generally take 1-2 days. EU orders, shipped with PostNL, take about 2-8 days, depending on the country. See detailed information here.

I submitted the wrong address at checkout, what can I do?

If you submitted the wrong address, please contact shop@bodiljane.com as soon as possible after placing your order.

Can I pick up my order?

Unfortunately not. We are very sorry, but Bodil Jane Shop is an online shop only.

Returns

Do you accept returns?

We accept returns up to 14 days after you have received your order. Each item must be unworn, unused and in the condition it arrived in. Please note that all sale items are final sales and can not be returned.

How can I return my order?

Kindly send an e-mail to shop@bodiljane.com to notify us. Please include your order details. Then simply print the return form, fill it out and repack the item(s) together with the form. Send the parcel to:

Can I exchange my order?

Unfortunately not. If you would like to exchange an item, please return the item and place a new order.

Can I cancel my order and get a refund?

You can always cancel your order and have it refunded before your item has shipped. Please contact shop@bodiljane.com as soon as possible if you would like to make any changes or cancellations of your order. We will try to help you as soon as possible, but unfortunately we cannot promise we will read your e-mail in time. Your order is shipped when you have received the shipping confirmation e-mail. After that it is not possible anymore to cancel your order.

My order is damaged or incomplete, what should I do?

We are so sorry! If you experience any damages, losses or other issues with shipping, please contact shop@bodiljane.com within 14 days of receiving your order. Please include your order number and a picture if relevant.

What is a giclée print?

A giclée fine art print is digital print made on a professional inkjet printer. This very high quality, incredibly rich and detailed print is a lot more sustainable than regular prints. It is printed with archival inks that are fade-resistant. See detailed information here.

Do you offer giclée prints in custom sizes?

Yes, we do! We can print any existing illustration by Bodil Jane that you have seen anywhere. Available in our standard print sizes (XS, S, M, L, and XL) or in a custom size. Please note that on top of usual print prices, we charge a fee of €30,00 to create a custom print. Order your custom giclée print here.

Do you offer framed prints?

Unfortunately we do not offer framed prints through this shop. All prints have standard dimensions, so it is fairly easy to find a suitable and affordable frame. If you would like to purchase a framed print, please take a look at Bodil Jane’s Artfully Walls collection.

I have seen a print online, but I can not find it in this shop. Is it available somewhere else?

Besides selling limited edition prints in Bodil Jane Shop, we also sell more affordable prints through Artfully Walls. There are a lot of different prints available in many different sizes. Please find all Artfully Walls prints here.

What is the difference between the prints available in this shop and the prints available through Artfully Walls?

All prints available in this shop are high quality giclée fine art prints. They are carefully curated by Bodil Jane. We offer limited sizes and the prints are sold unframed. They will be shipped from the Netherlands. See detailed information here.

The prints that are available through Artfully Walls are more affordable and also a high quality, but not as high as the giclée fine art prints in this shop. They can be ordered in many different sizes, framed or unframed. The prints are also selected by Bodil Jane, but are usually older work. They will be shipped from the US.

It is always possible to order a print you have seen on Artfully Walls as a custom giclée print from this shop, if you want to make sure you will get the best quality.

How do I take care of my Bodil Jane rug?

As wool rugs characteristically shed, during the first few months it is important to vacuum regularly. In the event of stains, clean the rug with a cloth to avoid the stain from drying. Sprinkling some baking soda onto a stain afterwards will ensure that extra moisture is absorbed away from the fibres. Vacuum the powder away after a few minutes. Professional rug cleaning is advised for deeper cleaning if necessary.

Do you offer rugs in larger sizes?

All rug designs we sell at the moment are around 120 x 100 mm. But it is definitely possible to order these designs in a larger size. Please send an e-mail to shop@bodiljane.com if you would like a large rug.

About prints

The giclée fine art prints that are available in Bodil Jane Shop are reproductions of original Bodil Jane digital and analogue illustrations. Some of the illustrations are the result of personal projects, others were created in collaboration with clients. 

All our giclée prints are printed in the Netherlands by a Hahnemühle certified print studio. The giclée prints are printed on 310 gsm acid-free Hahnemühle German Etching paper. Hahnemühle is one of the world’s leading giclée paper manufacturers.

Each print is signed and dated. Please note that all prints are sold unframed.

What is a giclée print?

A giclée fine art print is digital print made on a professional inkjet printer. This very high quality, incredibly rich and detailed print is a lot more sustainable than regular prints. It is printed with archival inks that are fade-resistant. The giclée printing process is environmentally safe since the inks are water-based and the paper is archival and acid-free. Thus, a giclée must be treated as fine art and placed away from direct sunlight, even though they are printed with long-life archival UV-safe pigmented inks.

Giclée prints are quickly being recognized by the world’s leading galleries and museums as the finest reproductions available to date. The term giclée is meant to be applied only to archival digital prints made with fine art paper.

Today, giclée prints have gained wide acceptance and legitimacy, and are now shown in museums and galleries throughout the world. Numerous examples of giclée prints can for example be found in the New York Metropolitan Museum, and in the Tate Galleries.

Introduction

These are our General Terms and Conditions. These General Terms and Conditions always apply when you use our Website or place an order through our Website, and they contain important information for you as a buyer. Please read them carefully. We also recommend that you save or print these General Terms and Conditions so that you can consult them at a later time.

1. Definitions

1.1 Casa Ponderosa: based in Amsterdam and registered with the Chamber of Commerce under file number 55768229, trading as Bodil Jane.

1.2 Website: the Website of Bodil Jane, to be found on www.bodiljane.com and all of its subdomains.

1.3 Customer: the natural person or corporation who enters into an agreement with Bodil Jane and/or is registered on the Website.

1.4 Agreement: any arrangement or agreement between Bodil Jane and Customer of which the General Terms and Conditions are an integral part.

1.5 General Terms and Conditions: these General Terms and Conditions.

2. Applicability of the General Terms and Conditions

2.1 The General Terms and Conditions apply to all offers, agreements and deliveries of Bodil Jane, unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing.

2.2 If Customer in their order, confirmation or any other communication alleging acceptance of the General Terms and Provisions includes any provisions that differ from, or are not included in the General Terms and Conditions, such provisions will only be binding upon Bodil Jane if and in so far as Bodil Jane has accepted them in writing.

2.3 In cases where specific product or service-related terms and conditions apply in addition to these general terms and conditions, Customer can always invoke the applicable condition that is most favorable to him in the event of incompatible general terms and conditions.

3. Prices and information

3.1 All prices posted on the Website and in other materials originating from Bodil Jane include taxes and other levies imposed by the government, unless stated otherwise on the website.

3.2 If shipping costs are charged, these will be clearly stated in good time before the contract is concluded. These costs will also be displayed separately in the ordering process.

3.3 The content of the Website is composed with the greatest care. Bodil Jane cannot, however, guarantee that all information on the Website is correct and complete at all times. All prices and other information posted on the Website and in other materials originating from Bodil Jane are subject to obvious programming and typing errors.

3.4 Bodil Jane cannot be held responsible for deviations in colour that result from the quality of the colours displayed on the screen.

4. Conclusion of the Agreement

4.1 The Agreement will be deemed to be concluded at the moment Customer accepts the offer of Bodil Jane subject to the conditions laid down by Bodil Jane.

4.2 If Customer has accepted the offer by electronic means, Bodil Jane will confirm receipt of acceptance of the offer by electronic means without delay. Until such receipt of acceptance is confirmed, Customer will have the possibility to terminate the Agreement.

4.3 If it is found that, in accepting or otherwise entering into the Agreement, Customer has provided incorrect data, Bodil Jane will have the right to postpone the Agreement until the correct data is received.

5. Registration

5.1 To make optimal use of the Website, Consumer can register using the registration form/the account sign-in option on the Website.

5.2 During the registration process, Consumer will be asked to choose a user name and password with which they can log on to the Website. Consumer alone is responsible for choosing a sufficiently reliable password.

5.3 Consumer must keep its login credentials, user name and password strictly confidential. Bodil Jane cannot be held liable for any misuse of the login credentials and is always entitled to assume that Consumer who logs on to the Website is the party that it professes to be. Consumer is responsible for and bears the full risk of any and all actions and transactions performed via Consumer's account.

5.4 If Consumer knows or has reason to suspect that its login details have become available to unauthorised parties, it will be required to change its password as soon as possible and/or to notify Bodil Jane accordingly so as to allow Bodil Jane to take appropriate measures.

6. Execution of the Agreement

6.1 As soon as Bodil Jane has received the order, it will send the products to Consumer without delay and with due regard for the provisions of paragraph 3 of this article.

6.2 Bodil Jane is authorised to engage third parties in the fulfilment of its obligations under the Agreement.

6.3 Well ahead of the date on which the Agreement is signed, information will be posted on the Website which clearly describes the manner in which and the term within which the products will be delivered. If no delivery term has been agreed or stated, the products will be delivered within 30 days at the latest.

6.4 If Bodil Jane is unable to deliver the products within the agreed term, it will notify Consumer accordingly. In that case Consumer can decide either to agree to a new delivery date or to terminate the Agreement without incurring any costs.

6.5 Bodil Jane advises Consumer to inspect the products upon delivery and to report any defects within an appropriate period, preferably by e-mail. For further details, see the article about guarantee and conformity.

6.6 The risks associated with the products will transfer to Consumer as soon as the products are delivered at the agreed delivery address.“

7. Right of withdrawal/return

7.1 This article only applies if Consumer is a natural person who is not acting in their professional or commercial capacity. Business Consumers therefore have no right of withdrawal.

7.2 Consumer will have the right to dissolve the distance Agreement with Bodil Jane within 14 days after receiving the product, free of charge and without stating reasons.

7.3 The term commences on the day after the product was received by the consumer, or a third party designated by the consumer, who is not the transporting party, or:

- if the delivery of a product involves different deliveries or parts: the day on which Consumer, or a third party designated by Consumer, received the last delivery or the last part;

- with contracts for the regular delivery of products during a given period: the day on which Consumer, or a third party designated by Consumer, received the last product;

- if Consumer has ordered several products: the day on which Consumer, or a third party designated by Consumer, received the last product.

7.4 The direct costs incurred for the return shipment are for Consumer's account. This means that Consumer will have to pay the costs of returning the product. Consumer must use a tracked shipping option. The shipping costs initially paid by Consumer and the purchase price paid for the product will be refunded to Consumer if the entire order is returned in good condition.

7.5 During the withdrawal period referred to in paragraph 1, Consumer will treat the product and its packaging with the utmost care. Consumer may not open the packaging or use the product unless this is necessary in order to determine the nature of the products, their features and their operation.

7.6 Consumer is only liable for the product's devaluation that is a consequence of their handling the product other than as permitted.

7.7 Consumer can terminate the Agreement in accordance with paragraph 1 of this article by reporting the withdrawal (digital or in other form) to Bodil Jane, within the withdrawal period, by means of the return form provided on the website. If Bodil Jane makes it possible for Consumer to declare their withdrawal via electronic/digital means, then after receiving such a declaration, Bodil Jane sends immediate confirmation of receipt.

7.8 As quickly as possible, but no later than 14 days after the day of reporting as referred to in paragraph 1, Consumer shall return the product, or hand it over to (a representative of) Bodil Jane. Consumer can send the product directly to Bodil Jane without a notice of withdrawal in advance within the period as mentioned in paragraph 1. Consumer must include the return form in the return package.

7.9 Any amounts already paid by Consumer (in advance) will be refunded to Consumer as soon as possible, and in any case within 14 days after dissolution of the Agreement. If Consumer chose an expensive method of delivery in preference to the cheapest standard delivery, Bodil Jane does not have to refund the additional costs of the more expensive method. Except in cases in which Bodil Jane has offered to retrieve the product themselves, they can postpone refunding until they have received the product or until Consumer proves they have returned the product, depending on which occurs earlier.

7.10 Information about the applicability or non-applicability of a right of withdrawal and any required procedure will be posted clearly on the Website, well before the Agreement is concluded.

8. Payment

8.1 Customer shall pay the amounts due to Bodil Jane in accordance with the ordering procedure and any payment methods indicated on the Website. Bodil Jane is free to offer any payment method of its choice and may change these methods at any time.

9. Warranty and conformity

9.1 This article only applies if Consumer is a natural person who is not acting in their professional or commercial capacity. If Bodil Jane gives a separate warranty on the products then, without prejudice to the aforesaid, this applies to all types of Consumers.

9.2 Bodil Jane guarantees that the products are in conformity with the Agreement, the specifications stated in the offer, the reasonable requirements of reliability and/or usability and with the existing statutory provisions and/or government regulations that are in force from the date of entering into the Agreement. If specifically agreed, Bodil Jane also guarantees that the product is suitable for other than normal use.

9.3 If the delivered product is not in conformity with the Agreement, Consumer must inform Bodil Jane within a reasonable period of time after he has discovered the defect.

9.4 If Bodil Jane deems the complaint to be correct, the faulty product(s) will be repaired, replaced or refunded in consultation with Consumer. The maximum amount of compensation is, having regard to the Article on liability, equal to the price paid by Consumer for the product.

10. Complaints handling procedure

10.1 If Customer has any grievances in connection with a product (in accordance with the article on warranties and conformity) and/or about other aspects of Bodil Jane’s service, it can submit a complaint by e-mail. See the contact details at the bottom of the General Terms and Conditions.

10.2 Bodil Jane will respond to the complaint as soon as possible, and in any case within 10 days after having received it. If it is not yet possible for Bodil Jane to formulate a substantive reaction to the complaint by that time, Bodil Jane will confirm receipt of the complaint within 10 days after having received it and give an indication of the term within which it expects to be able to give a substantive or definitive reaction to Customer's complaint.

10.3 If Customer is a natural person who is not acting in their professional or commercial capacity, it can file a complaint through the European Online Dispute Resolution platform, available at: http://ec.europa.eu/odr/.

11. Personal details

11.1 Bodil Jane will process the Consumer's personal details in accordance with the privacy statement published on the Website.

12. Final provisions

12.1 This agreement is governed by the laws of the country of establishment of the webshop.

12.2 Insofar as not dictated otherwise by mandatory law, any disputes ensuing from the Agreement will be submitted to the competent Dutch court in the district where Bodil Jane has its registered office.

12.3 If any provision set out in these General Terms and Conditions should prove to be void, this will not affect the validity of the General Terms and Conditions as a whole. In that case, the Parties will lay down one or more new provisions in replacement which will reflect the original provision as much as is possible under the law.

12.4 The term 'written' in these General Terms and Conditions also refers to communication by e-mail, provided that the sender's identity and the integrity of the email message have been sufficiently established.
